The O&G Department of Union Hospital was established around 2002.  The present Head of Department is Dr Yu Kai Man, and the Deputy Head is Dr Yip Shing Kai.

Risk management measures and mutual support amongst professionals within and across specialties make the place very safe for childbirth.  The place delivered more than 7000 babies in 2011 and 2012.  There are weekly reviews to performance of the service and bimonthly governance meetings.
